Not at all! Amazing. He achieves his best because of all he's gone through with his teacher, and gets to prove it. It's the culmination. Jazz is all about improvisation and doing random solos like that. His drum solo is an incredible example of jazz drumming, going off at a complete tangent without breaking tempo or the groove.
