Hey Movie Lovers!
Moana is a fabulous movie and my family highly recommends it. But one thing we like to do for fun with the movies we watch together is try to catch mistakes, and there is a plentiful reservoir in all Disney movies.
Which ones did you notice in the film? My kids noticed #5: The missing sticks, but here's the complete list:
- Maui's hook is missing after he escapes Te Fiti.
- One tapestry is entirely changed during the scary story scene with the village children.
- Green leaf on the beach sand goes missing.
- Fish print in the sand goes missing when young Moana is enticed by the ocean into picking up a shell.
- Moana throws sticks in the sand when talking to her mother, which go missing when the camera angle changes.
- After Moana has a near drowning experience, some debris on the sand is there one minute, gone the next.
- A mysterious rock appears out of nowhere.
- Hei Hei's chicken feed disappears suddenly even though he was having trouble eating it.
- Maui's hook appears hanging off the side of the canoe, where it was fully on the deck before.
- The storage compartment lid of the canoe was open one minute, then closed when the camera changes.
Who else loves movie mistakes? I think movie scene continuity integrity should be a regular movie job. I guess the editors are ultimately responsible for these things but I think there is a market niche to be filled here! Although, if movies were perfect, you wouldn't be able to have fun finding the mistaken sunken treasures.
