The Italian Job

in #movies6 years ago

The 2003 version.

The remake was not quite what I had in mind as it wasn't a repeat of the story, instead it was essentially a new story, still with Minis though. It had a decent story, along with good car chases.

The acting was good, but this was expected from the actors in the film. They had some decent dialog to work with which always helps. Essentially sit back and enjoy the ride, car chases, and the "good" guys winning. Don't look closely at some of the physics, or other aspects of the movie.

The movie starts with Donald Sutherland who is playing a thief on his last job (always the last job). One of his crew (Edward Norton) double crosses everyone, steals the gold, and kills Donald Sutherland. The others manage to survive. This of course all takes place in Italy, hence the name.

The rest of the crew having survived, manage to follow Edward Norton back to the America, meet up with Sutherland's daughter and start planning on how to get their stolen gold back. Will they be able to pull off another successful heist? Especially against someone that knows how they operate.

Sort:

Not bad movie though I much prefer the original one.

I like both of them, they are different enough so as to not have a direct comparison.

That is true though I still like the first one the most :)

Fair enough.
