RE: Sounds of youth // the musical genres behind the soundtracks in the cartoons.

in #music6 years ago

I always get this false impression that heavy metal is the most popular genre in South America as I watch a lot of documentaries about metal bands visiting and they always sell out massive stadiums! :P

My favourite cartoon was "Wacky Races". I just loved all the different vehicles and the characters seem to encompass every kind of human being you could think of!

hahahaha no, in the 80s if the "merengue" and "salsa" were highly valued because of the fusion of jazz and the rhythmic richness that these genres offer, however, in recent times, reggaeton and trap are pitifully the predominant genres in this part of the world.

I always found it interesting how the car is a reflection of the character's style, no doubt that caricature is quite funny.

It was such a popular show in my youth that people even make real cars based on the series nowadays. I have seen them at an event called the Goodwood Festival Of Speed here in the UK.

Here is an example...

Surely it must be surprising to come across one of those in the streets.

They are not allowed on the public roads. They are just built for fun and used at events on race tracks, etc.

It would be crazy to attend an event and see more of that.

If you ever come to England you should try and time it so you can go to the Goodwood Festival Of Speed. An amazing and unique event!
