First post on Web3!

in #music23 days ago (edited)

So wow.. Where to start. Centralized social media and content creating really stole a large part of my life, years and years I won't get back. Building totally pointless thousands of followers not for money just for community, when it can be taken from you without doing a thing wrong as a page on my website I pay for states and shows. I just love guitar and cool people and community especially the music community travelling and arts in general.

So first post here and I'll be honest I'm still not sure where I am or what I'm doing but rough idea. Was aiming for a different site but never quite got there tonite so thought I'd at least post here (if it works)

So 3speak, there mission statement floored me, that is true power along with those quotes and that's my ultimate dream of social media and the internet, have zero interest in money but obviously I guess it would incentives to create more or better quality. Or even donate to charity as I'm alright in life, home owner in my 30s thankfully, loving mum.

So I really hope all my web3 experiences are good positive ones and peace and love to everyone on here irrelevant of what your doing, wish everyone the best..

And I'll keep posting, try stop me lol.

Hi @blackstar8008 welcome to Hive. I'm @palomap3 from Lovesniper OCD team.

You reminded me a lot of how I felt when I wrote my first post here, hehe. The beginning isn't easy when you come from web2. By the way, I'm curious to know how you found out about Hive?

At first there are many new concepts to understand, but nothing that can't be overcome. Here are a couple of links that I recommend you explore. Take it easy, it's a lot of information at once. I hope to hear your music and read about your experiences soon!

Have a good day!

Just as I wasted 2-3 years on Instagram, had my blue tick verified, doing music, 3K followers and would pay them for ads.. And then just got the most ridiculous censorship, like this comment was taken down 'I didn't know you were on YouTube, I'll need to find you there' as spam? It got ridiculous so went to YouTube and did the last year there, same kind of censorship, had 2700 views on a live and when they uploaded it they said it had 70. So I showed them the screen recording showing 2700, then it happened three more times. I go into it on a current post on my webpage called Social Media Censorship. So just giving of myself for a year on YouTube same as instagram, never about money I own my own home, was just about community and you see it was all a waste of time and a castle made of sand. So just got sick of wasting my time like I'm gonna live to be 1000. Heard about web3 and censorship resistant - as long as it isnt slander or illegal its fine and, YouTube's mission statement sounds AMAZING but sad thing is its not congruent. I then saw 3steams and it was like everything I'd ever want social media to be. Just fair and honest and it amazed me seeing the biggest companies like Meta and Google are the most corrupt. And like Edward Snowden said 'When reporting a crime (bad thing) is seen as a crime (bad thing) you know your being run by criminals (bad people) and it applies with google. Not good people. In my personal opinion creating there for a year with extreme censorship techniques (there's so many ways to censor) and still have 450 subscribers for a basic music channel, so tbh I'm trying right now to force my self not to to live there as going live gets addictive and on a platform like YouTube you think it gives you something and it doesn't it just takes. So just heard about hive through 3steam and while I never got on 3steam yet I got on here and this seems cool. Just a company with morals, good values, basic things you assume companies like google have before you see they don't..

Bit of an essay there but was a long road getting to web3, not a waste of time though as I have got here.. To a better place.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience on web2. Hive is not a company, each user is (we are) an owner in proportion to the stake they (we) have accumulated. Decentralisation has many more advantages than disadvantages, including resistance to censorship. No one can delete the content of your blog. This is an increasingly powerful asset! Enjoy your stay on Hive.
