Hey music peeps. Any of you into DJ'ing or performance with Ableton?
I think, along with Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing is my favourite producer of all time. Check out this video of him doing a sort of live performance DJ mix, using all his own tracks and remixes.
Nosaj Thing mashing the AKAI MPK
I do a bit of recording and performance with Ableton when I have time. These days I'm focusing more on my photography, but sometimes I come back to videos like that above and just get so inspired.
I'm hoping some of the music producers and performers on here will be into getting a little community discussion together.

Fly Lo is also my favorite producer, I do some live act in ableton it is more fun than just mixing 2 songs., but I do house/noise, like nicolass jaar.
It is genius how he plays with radio.

Will do.
I also love flying lotus (seen him live) and nosaj thing! Would be cool to get a discussion going about ableton and these artists
Yeah definitely. I think some of the more niche subjects are still very young on here but we'll get there. #ableton flag seems likely and maybe things like #vst #recording etc
I produce with Ableton but I DJ with usbs on CDJs.
Ableton as a DAW is phenomenal, but for performing live I think I would have to really sit down and learn the software inside out, along with the controller functions to go with it (like the AKAI APC40) before being comfortable to perform live on it.
Would be interesting to see if we could get some tutorials posted on here.
I posted a synth tutorial here:

Over time hopefully we can get a huge library of tutorials going. The monetary incentive means the standard should be very high over time. Maybe even some artist Q&As!
Exciting stuff. See you in #ableton
Nice set! I produce in Ableton:)
