Hello Steemit, we're Dinamit Duo and we would like to introduce ourself to you by telling our story of music and friendship.
Juraj Markač (on the right) and Toma Šimunić (on the left) are two 23-year-old musicians. They know each other since they could hold a guitar. Their connection has been a base of musical creativity which they express on classical guitars.
Their first musical interaction was playing the guitars together in a childrens choir when they were 10 years old. Because they were children music grew into their roots and because they were friends growing around music their connection became creative.
Their first project was named "NaHero" (eng. aslope) . It was a four man band (2 guitars, bass, drums, vocals) playing rock/blues/garage music. They were only 15 years old and already writing their own songs and making their own music.
They graduated classical guitar in 2012. and 2013. at the Music school "Zlatko Baloković" in Zagreb mentored by mag.art. Igor Horvat.
Playing the electrical guitar was fun for them, but in the end their love was greater for the classical guitar.
In 2013. they discovered a new way of playing the classical guitar - gipsy swing, the style of the great Django Reinhardt. They combined the complex beauty of classical harmonies with the dirty playfull gipsy rhythms.
That is how we, Dinamit Duo, came to exist. Thank you Django!
In less than a year we made our first album containing interpretations of some of the most popular classical melodies. Joking about us stealing melodies, we named the album "Kleptomania".

After the suprising succes of "Kleptomania" in minor circles, we had a lot of gig requests, playing at art exhibitions, book releases, pubs, weddings, private events and any events that had an idea on how to include music in their program.
We enjoyed busking so we enlisted for Špancirfest, a street festival in Varaždin, Croatia. That's where we made our first music video of Chopin's "Nocturne op.55 no.1" , naming it "Sean Penn" after the actor because his name is pronounced almost like Chopin.

Then we started studying Paco de Lucia.
Paco de Lucia is in our opinion the greatest guitar player that ever lived. Wood came to life in his hands.
He introduced us to passion and fire of the soul and body, to flamenco, the music of spanish gipsies.
We started absorbing everything he could give us.
In the meantime we found more inspiration in croatian and folk music which made our style even more rich.
And so came the second era of our creation, bringing old folk melodies to life in our new, even more unique style.
In 2015. we came to the attention of many newspapers and internet portals giving us positive critiques and calling us for interviews.
The summer of 2015. we were busking in Dubrovnik and Rab. In Dubrovnik we had a concert in one of the most beautiful open stages on the mediterranian sea, Park Orsula.
When we came back to our hometown Zaprešić we were full of energy and inspiration and so we made our first song inspired only by our emotions. We named it Lotus, referencing the phrase "jewel in the lotus", expression of beauty in the living. Dario Bukovski, an experienced young artist/cameraman, made a music video for "Lotus".

We are currently finishing our second album containing our songs and our folk interpretations. It should be published in November.
Our friendship has been an adventure of music and understanding, action and passion, love and work.
