The Young Dubliners Rock Celtic Fling

in #music3 years ago

This year's Celtic Fling in Manheim, Pa, was lucky enough to include The Young Dubliners on the bill. Due to flight problems out of Los Angeles, only two of the members were able to arrive in Pennsylvania in time for their first set. Because the show must go on, Keith Roberts and Justin Pecot filled the air with songs from their catalogue that gave anyone listening the impression that no backup was needed as the set had a certain fullness and satisfaction to it. Pecot, being the newest addition to their lineup, accompanied Roberts with some amazing guitar playing.

The rest of the band arrived in time to perform the rest of their sets, as well as the Ceilidh, all from the Globe Stage. A Ceilidh is one big party at the end of the day where all of the bands get to come back and perform alone and together. The folk song "I'll Tell Me Ma," which is one of their most popular covers, was heard a few times throughout the evening. The Young Dubliners have appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," as well as earning opening slots for the likes of Collective Soul, Jethro Tull and Los Lobos. They are currently holding a fundraiser to support their upcoming album. You can find out more about this at youngdubliners.com.
