Earlier this year i looked into going to the roots method of how music was made, and thanks to my friend Nathan, he told me a bit about modular eurorack, and how you can manipulate voltage currents ect to create sounds and much more.
So i decided to look into it, and started with a couple of modules. just an output and a sampler & repeater, which turned out to do more than its intended for.

Using a modular setup seems to win in popularity. I personally know a few artists having Modular part of their hardware setup in their study. One of the cool things with this system is that one can create endless tracks. I've heard a few coming from the fingers of a great producer. His tracks are at least half an hour to an hour. When he releases, he needs to cut it down. I suppose with modular one can create an entire live performance, one this is unique instead of one that is kinda pre-programmed. And yea, I also understood it can become very expensive. That said, I know a few artists producing with hardware. If we start counting the costs to all the drummachines, keyboards and what not they acquired over the years, this can total 200k/400k Euro easily.
Yes i agree. the sounds are endless and its going down a rabbit hole to the unknown. the amount of ideas and samples ive made with this thing just from even a couple of seconds, using a repeater and sampler is great. modular maybe costly, but if turning to professional usage, then it pays off in the end in no time.
Thats the trick I suppose. Some artists are even bringing modular to live acts. Lots of setting up to do for an hour or two performance, but those who master the art of modular, can do amazing things at a club or event :)
