The S2800 sounds close enough since it is the same generation of Akai converters, but without the pads and the MPC sequencer it is a totally different way of working.
My thoughts with those things are that you could use another sequencer and pads.
Pads could be a MIDI controller, and the sequencer could even be software.
Granted, I don't have time on the real deal so maybe the workflow is super-convenient.
Teenage Engineering make the OP-1, and it's a super-hyped mobile hardware DAW basically, but I always assume the reality of using it is nowhere near the hyper.
I could be wrong.
