BREAKING: Country Music Legend Just Passed Away Surrounded By His Family, Willie Will Greatly Miss Him

Willie Nelson is one of the most incredible and legendary guys in the music industry. Because of this he has had the opportunity to build relationships with people all over the world.

One of those many dear friends and great connections is legendary songwriter and musician, Larry Butler. Nelson and Butler met towards the beginning of Nelson’s career, and the two of them have remained great friends ever since.

Unfortunately, Willie received devastating news that Larry Butler has passed away. The two of them had just performed together for the last time a few weeks ago, and Butler’s death has his Nelson hard.

Nelson posted about his friends death on Thursday (May 18) sharing that he was heartbroken to hear the news. He considered Larry not only a great musician but a great friend, and they were such a great duo!

Larry’s obituary stated that he passed away on Mother’s Day. He passed away peacefully at age 85, surrounded by all of his loved ones.

He was survived by his three daughters Tammy Sklar and husband Ricky; Tina Martin and husband Wayne; Teresa Butler and fiancé John Youngblood, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also survived by his brother Roy Lee Butler, sister Billie Kirkley, and sister-in-law Rita Jones. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat Butler, son Larry Joe, his father Leander, mother Eula Mae, brothers LB and LC, and sisters Wanda Reynolds and Shirley Smith Moon.

“In the early morning hours of Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017, Larry Butler passed away peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by his loved ones.”
