As you can see from the screenshots,
the repetitive form of yesterday's idea has been altered quite a bit. I'll start at the top with drums and just work my way down through what was been updated, added or removed. Tracks 2-6 are all of the same drum tracks as yesterday, except there is another kick added, which is a little more high pitched, and just helped to make the kick hits more obvious. I also got rid of quite a bit of the super subby low-end on the first kick, and, although it can be heard now, I think it needs to cut through the bass a bit more, so I'll have to spend some time really working on those parts. The bass in Track 7 now has a new part, in Red, which temporarily takes us up to a G, then an F, before returning to the Dmin to Cmaj progression. All of the other tracks that are used over those new sections reflect this change as well. As you can see in the screenshot to the right here, the song doesn't use the boring form from yesterday, where a new track is added every 8 bars. Instead, I've gone through and staggered where things come in, which added a lot more variation and interest, and has definitely made it a lot cooler. I removed some of the notes from the progression in Track 11, which with the other changes worked a lot better. We have a bunch of new audio tracks at the end; a few of these are used in the transitional sections, and swell us back into the main groove. But we also have Tracks 16 and 17, which were recorded from a Strobe2 synth, and just add some single note accents, a bit like Track 11.
