Daddy Daycare 2.0 NEW Album Released: "Scribbling Mind" (stream inside!)

in #music5 years ago (edited)

A new release from Daddy Daycare 2.0 hit stores August 8th!

A new 13 track album, "SCRIBBLING MIND" was just released into the wild, just 11 months after my debut of "WHEN EARTH?".

For the avid listeners who are familiar with my first album, there are plenty of 'Easter Eggs' in the new album to find. Some of these tracks are a continuation of a few previous tracks, however, I leave it to the listeners to unearth! Sorry, no clues!

My Music is...

In my head, all the time. When my head fills up I just pour it out and push it out into the world. A true 'release', indeed.

My Music Genre...

My genre is 'genres are silly illusions'... Not tied to any specific genre of music, my tunes tend to blur lines between them instead. That is how I have always seen music. Music is meant to be shared and musicians are meant to take risks. Otherwise, the music we all enjoy today would not exist. I'm not sure I could exist without music, so I am grateful to have music.

Why try to jam it into a box that it may not really fit in? That's how I feel about music genres.

Electronic Music

I remember watching hip-hop really come to life back in the late 80s, early 90s. What many believed was a new genre, to me, was merely creative humans using whatever they had at their disposal to create.

When schools were cutting funds for music programs and removing instruments from schools - creative individuals were finding ways to create without them. When they began playing two records simultaneously, a near ear of music was born.

Now that we have so many digital tools at our fingertips, we now have this evolution of music which cannot be compartmentalized. No matter what your favorite genre, it's all electronic music now. Many artists in the realm of country, rock and roll, heavy metal, rap and hip hop, and even jazz are embracing some form of electronic music.

SCRIBBLING MIND

Where did the title come from and why did I choose that for an album?

Immediately following the release of my album WHEN EARTH?, I began organizing some tracks that I had been dabbling with. I came up with the name SCRIBBLING MIND after previewing some of the material I had created because it reminded me of my toddlers with a crayon on the walls; to some it is destruction and to others a masterpiece. The story behind the album title is a simple one: I create music because it is always in my head - once my head fills up I need to pour it out.

I create most times without having any idea where I am taking my creation. I am just allowing my mind to expose that which is hidden within my 'scribbling mind'. I don't think about risk or failure, I just openly create - which to me sometimes feels like things create themselves and I am simply along for the tour. Daddy Daycare 2.0

I wanted to put out some music that takes the listener along on this journey with me. Just as chaotic as life itself, these tracks are ever-fluid and always changing. Being able to create music that I can share with the world is the ultimate reward.
