It’s one of those random recommendations you see on Youtube when you’re looking for something entertaining to watch. I’m a simple girl, I see pizza, I click and thank God I did.
The track is something that you could listen to while you’re lounging on the couch on a lazy late afternoon. It’s very soothing to listen to with the vocals just floating right above the woozy electronic and synth-pop notes with a few indie-pop elements added in the mix. As with the other songs that I love, it’s very refreshingly minimal that you can focus on the straight forward lyrics of the song about how pizza basically sucks when you’re alone after being with someone for quite awhile.
There’s no deep analysis needed for this song. Everything about it, the back track and the vocals, is pretty much straight forward, easy to understand and relatable without it being too up in your face.
The main song Pizza sees the singer in her element, riding on the waves of laidback electronic rhythm. The number is given a satisfying interpretation – with the verses picking up momentum from one verse to another – on the groovy remix by electronic dance producer Kai Takahashi.
Meanwhile, Vamos – the only Korean track – is as chilled as chilled-out songs go. The tempo remains languorous throughout the song, letting OOHYO’s airy vocals take the rein.
It’s a song that you’d definitely just enjoy without much thought and drama. Something you can listen to to somehow relieve stress and unwind with a box of pizza and a bottle of beer.
