This was our first gig as Madman and the Lover. Hugh, Whitey and I had been playing in each others bands and jamming for at least 5 years before Madman was born. After a relocation to Melbourne and the addition of Tommy on bass the line-up was complete. Despite a small amount of gigs we managed to launch an EP and this is the first single from it. The song borrows a line from a Neutral Milk Hotel song for the title (keen ears will hear me thank Jeff Mangum!).
The meaning of the song (at least for me) changes from line to line so it's really up to you to interpret it how you please. But hey, that's art baby!
