Is Static-X coming back?

in #music6 years ago

Naturally, I was surprised to see the news about the release of the new album by nu-metal band Static-X, which broke up in 2013. It was a strange feeling, because Static-X is first of all Wayne Static, without which teams with such a name should not exist in principle. This, damn it, is the same thing to kick out vocalist Corey Taylor from Stone Sour or Hetfield from Metallica and continue to exist as a separate organism. But Static is not with us for four years. Who then will be at the helm of the updated gang?

It turned out all predictable. Former members of the team dug up old records of Wayne, after which they decided to release fresh material. The news is also pleasant due to the preservation of Static's vocal recordings, which means that we will hear his voice again.

The album will be called "Project Regeneration". The composition includes the drummer of the original lineup, Ken Jay, bass guitarist Tony Kampos, and also guitarist Koichi Fukuda, who plays the band in different time periods. The album has no release date yet. In an interview, the bass player said that Static-X will make a world tour to celebrate the 1999 debut of Static-X on Wisconsin Death Trip with guest singers.

Campos says they are appealing to the frontmen of Ministry, Restless, Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver and Fear Factory. By the way, the vocalists of the above teams are not averse to working with the musicians, but due to their busy schedule and busy schedule, they still cannot confirm their participation. It is a little strange that the musicians announced the tour without any frontmen confirming their participation in the project.

We are waiting for updated information and singles.
