Vintage Gear in the Studio

in #music5 years ago

Hello and welcome to this, well, kind of extraordinary and uncommon video, uncommon at least for me!

I´ve got some – no – I´ve got A LOT OF vintage equipment from an old man, who has had these things in his studio for nearly 40 years.

Now he´s seriously ill, he must stay in bed and will stay there for the rest of his life, which – sad enough – doesn´t seem to be a long time span anymore.

It was me to get these things, because he is convinced, that I´ll cherrish his old equipment and use it and – that way- won´t allow, that he´ll be completely forgotten after a while.

And he is right – for sure!

I got these things for free – ok, I paid the transport across Europe, but that was only well under 300 dollars – but I got them under a condition. More about that in this video.

Enjoy your day!
Rolf

OMG!
It has transported me to the past, you have the Yamaha jewels.
They were the perfect gifts in December, here in Venezuela.
I think all the families wanted to have a musical genius, hahaha
Also it was mandatory the mescladores and the PC.
It is a legacy that you received and a great responsibility towards Mr. and his wife.
God help you to meet them and your goals.
Have a happy life.

Thank you so much! And, yes, you are right with everything you´ve written in your comment! Enjoy your day! Rolf

those are some really retro stuff my friend! i still remember the good old days of having CTR monitors. haha brings back memories!

Thank you for commenting! I feel this certain nostalgia as well, when I look at my new old machines. But now it´s time for investigations and thoughts how to integrate - technically as well as musically - these jewells into up-to-date producing in an up-to-date studio. I´m looking forward to that task. Enjoy your day! Rolf

oooh was that a BBC Micro? Ahh no it's an Atari!

Hello! A pleasure♡

The truth is an era that marked history, there we can see how technology is evolving little by little... Incredible👍👍

A very interesting video. I live in Venezuela where we don't have advanced technology. The electronic equipment we have must be repaired. Although we know about new technologies through the internet. I laughed a little with your video because it was a trip to the past. Nice to have seen this video. Regards @rofilm

Thank you for commenting. I´m very happy about you liking my introductory video. My goal is to sensefully combine the old and the new - hopefully reviving the feelings and vibes I had back in the days - to merge them into something artfull. Enjoy your day! Rolf
