It's easy to get lost in this hypnotic groove...
Never Gonna Leave You never strays too far from where it starts; employing almost the same melody and phrasing the whole way through, this gorgeously somber tune is rather entrancing. Over an almost 7-minute run time, the drummer sticks to the same rhythm, laying the foundation for the undulating force. When the chord progression does change, it is driven through by the piano, though all other parts tread forward. Though a relatively small adjustment, it makes an immense tonal impact offset by the other repetitive instruments.
This song is so incredible to me since it pulls the disco sound in a unique direction. The voices are more timid, there are no bombastic horn lines, no rallying drum breaks. The usual positive atmosphere is instead handled in a more yearning and uncertain manner. Let me know if you too find it easy to get lost in this song.

Yes of course! Definitely a special tune in my collection.
I used had the reissue LP but ended up selling it because the pressing was just awful (way too quiet). A real shame because this is a top-notch tune.
