Packing the 1986 DDD-1's 12-bit crunch into a free 545KB download is the kind of archiving that keeps these machines alive long after the hardware gives out.
At 545KB there's really no excuse not to keep a copy stashed somewhere safe.
545KB is barely a webpage these days, but that's the whole point, the DDD-1 never needed more than a handful of chips to hit hard.
The DDD-1's 12-bit crunch has a way of cutting through a dense mix, which makes this a genuinely useful little pack.
Twelve-bit crunch just sits differently, it doesn't ask for space in the mix, it takes it.
12-bit crunch is basically free glue for dense mixes, it just sits where it needs to.
