Drum Cover of David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust - Drumming To Cheer Up My Sick Neighbor

in #music5 years ago (edited)

I recorded this for my neighbor who's struggling with COVID-19. She got it from selflessly taking care of our 90 year old neighbor that eventually agreed to go to the hospital after a week of her care. He's been there for a week as a confirmed case, and just collapsed unconscious this weekend. Scary.

Her favorite artist is David Bowie, so I committed to recording two songs for her to cheer her up. The second song will be Space Oddity.

This was my first time playing my electronic kit this year. Time flies.

I'm looking pretty thin because I'm down 13-15 pounds from having the virus, but I'm super toned as a plus. I'm just getting through the final stages of some lingering symptoms, and currently losing my voice from 3 weeks of coughing.

With most neighbors stuck home, I had a 90 minute window to hammer this out. I listened to it a bunch this weekend to internalize it, as that's how I learn best. The actual drumming is just applying what I absorbed from listening and translating the memory into physical action.

Not perfect, but not bad under the circumstances for my first run at it from scratch.

It was also nice to move around a bit after being in bed and moving gingerly for weeks. Got some blood flowing!!

Speakers or headphones with good bass are recommended for the best electronic drum sound.

Thanks for listening,

Matt

Great to see you back at it brother! <3

Go Marlins! Cheers to Mattingly! 💪

A well trained eye there with the alternative style hat. Poor Don never got a ring.

Drums and baseball. Nothing wrong with that.
Perhaps Jeter and co. get this farm system snapping quick and Donnie stays in Miami for the full fruits of it. Hopefully.

He needs the farm because he gave his stars away for some hay.

I was a bit worried, since you did not post for a while.
Glad to see you have recovered :)

90% recovered, but almost there. Thanks for your concern. I often find myself making more money on my home business when I post less/don't peruse the site, so that's also part of why I'm not posting as much these days. I feel like I need to prioritize my income and then blog/have fun browsing second.

Watching this video makes me so happy Matt, you have no idea. I wish everyone speedy recovery.

Hopefully, you're going to be able to go out out there and start hitting weights and running in the field in no time.

It was tough to see myself so thin, but one month to take my shape away means one month to get it back. Thanks for watching. This is an older classic rock song from 1971.

Great job Matt. I dedicated my last workout video to you by the way.

Cant watch IT in esteem. Will check later
