To be honest I've never seen American Pie, so I didn't know where that line came from. Just found it now.
Anyway, I was actually writing about Bandcamp the music site who had a really good 2016, despite the general music industry struggling.
You can see from my collection that I have bought a stack of music there. I've got into a lot of bands who are not always on big labels or played on the radio, but why should I care? I can support them directly via a site that gives around 80% of the money to the artists.
Some of those I've enjoyed include:
- Arcade Messiah: Excellent post rock
- The Bar-steward Sons of Val Doonican: A funny bunch of guys who have done some charity records
- Cherry White: Good old rock
- Amanda Palmer: A cool tribute to Bowie
You can generally listen to most of the music before you buy and sometimes choose how much to pay. The artists have control. Now, if only they could accept Steem! Can we make that happen?
Now I get it...

My music-buys are split between LP and Bandcamp. I have too many mucisian friends to support Spotify and I loath Apple Itunes, so instead I buy surprising and interesting new music on Bandcamp, that as far as I can see is one of the few places with a reasonable policy towards artists.

I've followed you there. I'll have to check out some of your collection.
Have you done any artwork for musicians?
Currently listening to this, but I bought that on CD
I have done quite a lot of art and video works for musicians, but not as Katharsisdrill. Here's an old video that I participated in:
Just listening to Big Big Train. Fascinating so British they sound :) Hard to put your finger on what exactly it is that make it so.
That's a cool video. I'm always amazed that people keep coming up with fresh ideas.
I'll be seeing BBT perform later this year. I had a ticket a couple of years back, but couldn't go and they don't tour often.
Cool, check out my music at bandcamp

Listening now. Is it working well for you? I haven't put any of my own music up yet. Maybe I'll record some of my own songs some time.
Yes It's a good service.
