The Trouble Notes - Teardrop (Massive Attack Cover) [Live at Game Over Berlin]

in #music2 years ago

Hey Hivers!

Yesterday we had an awesome day filming in the GO NFT Urban Art Installation in Berlin. You see, the idea all came together because in 2 months we will be headed to the UK for a summer tour, and we need to increase awareness about our concerts so we have full shows! Our history in the UK is a long one, but the past years we have not been able to do much across the channel in part because of the Pandemic, but also because our travels had kept us in Germany/France/Italy throughout the majority of the summer. That said, to perform at Glastonbury Festival was always a bucket-list dream, so when we went to Glastonbury in 2019 in search of a contact (AND FOUND ONE), we knew that we would finally take the chance to spend a month during festival season in the UK!

Fast forward to 2022 and we have a solid 3 week tour in June, a mix of festivals and ticketed concerts. It's all very exciting! Early sales for most of the concerts have been quite strong, but we still have a ways to go to make sure that it's a successful tour, SO we had to get our marketing hats on and brainstorm ways to create awareness for us and our tour in the UK without being physically present there. Thus we got the idea, let's do some renditions of songs by UK artists that have inspired us. "Teardrop" by Massive Attack is a powerful piece of music, it was on the very cutting edge of electronica in the 90's and it inspired many melodies and musicians to push their creative limits. Massive Attack, the legendary Bristol music group, are an inspiration to us because of their sustainability commitments, patronage of Urban art, and genuine openness. It felt like the perfect song and group to pay homage to!

Our original album "Liberty Awaits" is officially available for Pre-Order. Help us take it up the charts by reserving your Vinyl, CD or Download today! Click here: https://thetroublenotes.bandcamp.com/...

This summer we will be making a highly anticipated tour of the UK with appearances at Glastonbury Festival, Summer Solstice at Stonehenge, Kite Festival and Wickham Folk Festival. While over in the UK we will be doing a series of concerts in different cities across the country. To pay a little Homage to one of our favorite UK artists, we decided to do this special instrumental cover of Massive Attack's anthem "Teardrop". Elizabeth Fraser and Massive Attack wrote one of the most iconic pieces of music of the 90's, an instrumental version of which featured as the title track of the famous television series "HOUSE" starring Hugh Laurie. The song has touched many including ourselves and inspired us to write better music. We only hope that this cover does the song the justice that it deserves.

Like the mural behind us? It is an original piece from Berlin LEGENDARY street artist "El Bocho". See more of his work around Berlin or through his website: https://elbocho.net/.

More about the artist:
"El Bocho is a Berlin based artist. He has been working on the streets since 1997 and is by now amongst the most famous and visible street artists in Berlin.

Communication and references to urban life are the main components of his work. El Bocho considers himself as an observed observer. It is important to him to work outside the art scene, as this reaches an audience that does not visit art specific locations like galleries or museums. El Bocho picks up the reactions of the viewers and uses them in his works. This creates a constant flow of communication with the public.

El Bocho has appeared in national and international books, magazines, newspapers and exhibitions. The artist was featured in different tv shows, such as German, Hungarian, Israelian, American and Hongkongese productions.

In July 2009 El Bocho completed the World’s largest tape art piece of the world in Berlin. 15.000 meter of tape were used on 1100m² at the front of the Stattbad in Wedding / Berlin. In November and December 2009 he was an artist in residence at the Red Bull House of Art in São Paulo / Brazil."
