The Vinyl Dilemma: Should we produce vinyls for our 2nd Studio Album!?

in #music2 years ago

Hey Hivers!

Over the next week we are going to launch our pre-sale campaign for our 2nd studio album called "Liberty Awaits." We've written quite extensively in the past about some of the challenges that musicians (particularly independent ones) have these days with the more "commercial" side of the business as we have seen record sales plummet and everything move into more centralized streaming. While we remain hopeful of a future where NFTs and Blockchain might help build a more sustainable music economy, there is still an urgent need to keep producing physical merchandise in order to survive.

Indeed one of the things that has remained a popular item is Vinyl, but with the production process becoming more backlogged and with the emergence of "re-vinyl" as a way of producing sustainably, it has become significantly more expensive and time consuming to produce. Over the past days we have taken to our audience to gauge exactly what items we should produce and are wondering how many are interested in buying Vinyls if we were to produce a limited number. So far, our communities on other social medias have responded very positively, but we'd love to hear from you and see if anyone on HIVE has any interested in purchasing one from us (perhaps we could find a way to accept HBD/HIVE through our presale!).

I'd buy one!

Thanks! Good to know. Seems like we're for sure going to print them because the feedback has been quite clear.
