Music is everywhere. Since we were born and until the day we'll reach the other side, we are surrounded by music. Think about it, even the heartbeat inside your chest is music. The ring of the church bell, the rhythmic "click clack" of a drop of water hitting the colored rooftops on a city night, the traffic, the "tic tac" of the keyboard while I'm writing these article, the bark of the dogs, the fork falling into the ground, all of that, we just have to close our eyes and hear. But, we are not only surrounded by it, let's look closer, every one of us is music.

Yes, every person in these world is capable of making music, even if you or many others think's that they can’t because "they don't have musical hear", or "any musical ability at all". That's a complete lie, if your heart if pumping blood and your lungs are reaching the air that the nature provides, you are also absolutely capable of making music. Believe me.

That’s one of the main thoughts I want to share in all my posts here on Steemit. You are music, the music is in you by nature, so by simple maths, you have all the chances to make music, and make it well. Think about it, repeat it to yourself like a mantra. That's a great start.

In the same lines of thoughts I would like to announce the things I will bring here to Steemit these next weeks. I'm planning to blog a series of different articles on 4 independent sections, every week of the month I will add an article to one of these 4 sections. In total I will be posting 4 articles per month (one on each section); these sections will be:

  1. Jazzturday Nights: here every first Saturday of each month I will be posting a current jazz artist with two of his most emblematic tunes, properly analyzed.

  2. Music Language for Everyone (Lessons): Every month I will be writing a new lesson on how to read sheet music. This Section is meant to everyone who wants to learn from the very beginning how to read sheets music.

  3. Did you hear that? Transcribe it: this section is for jazz lovers. I will be posting some of my transcriptions of the best jazz solo alongside an analysis of the solo.

  4. Improvise Now: I will be giving some advices, tips and exercises for jazz improvisation.

The 1 and 2 section will start on April 14, while the last two sections will start on May.

Follow me to be part of this adventure of discovering the music that lives in you. You don't necessarily have to be a musician to walk with me the beautiful path of music (I promise you will learn music along the way).

Come on, time to tune it on. Let's enjoy the ride.

Carlos.
