I'm Noah and I'm new here ! I've been coming on the community for about 3 or 4 months now from time-to-time and finally got an invite after I took the plunge and signed up like I've been meaning to. I'm looking forward to contributing here. As some background, I'm an artist manager and an artist (albeit, quietly) myself. My first impressions to steemit were actually some people posting the music of one of the artists I manage, so I thought I'd come here and just post the music myself and maybe even interact and connect with some neat people in the process. :)
I run the management agency, and in addition, I've been working on an audio streaming & artist tools service called wave.ac which is more or less my replacement for Soundcloud. I founded the company with some friends after we became sort of disillusioned with the financial outlook and moral stake that Soundcloud vested in their creator community--which has only worsened in recent months. So that said, we're expediting our process to build wave.ac into a successful and stable audio streaming and artist tools platform. We hope to offer 128k streaming (2x Soundcloud quality) as a basic to all our users and build a model that artists and fans want to support and invest in.
That said, I wanted to share some of the photos from the alpha. :)
And if you're interested in joining our open beta when it launches in May, sign up at wave.ac. I promise to keep you guys updated here on Steem and to stay gauged in the music and creative communities especially. Hopefully I give you all some good reasons to switch from Soundcloud once everything is running and operational. ;)
