If you buy card packs for 100000 Starbits at the current price of 0.00036 (equals 36 HIVE) the content of the packs have to compensate the cost price. If you get only 12 rare cards then you will make a loss on every 12 pack because the common cards are mostly worthless (or not sellable) and the rare cards are sold on the market under cost price.
This may change if we have a bigger playerbase but actually I prefer to stay liquid for targeted buys (underpriced cards, missing unique cards or collections from players who give up playing RS). I don't rely on my luck on card packs.
Staking for records is a joke. It just makes sense (at least for me) for the first two days after the release of a track when the handful players who buy records at all want to keep their record collection up to date. After that non-buyers come in, staking for a record they don't want to buy for themself and watering the income from my massive stakes. If I see that I could not get a remarkable income from my stake anymore, I unstake immediately.
The last time I was able to compensate a bad days income with my stakes but usually I prefer not to stake anymore. Three days without liquidity can be a mess.
Cashout is only an option for me at a minimum price of 0.0005 HIVE. Starbits is the best currency for playing RS and the more you have liquid the better.

I can not agree really. I have made some stats and that show me that people buying different records. BUT of course you earn most if you are early in to a pool and people buy that record. Once I had 100 % of the pool some minutes- that can give som nice money
