RE: Musing Posts

Great question, though at the same time discusses about controversial topic on the Steem ecosystem. I've talked about this already I think but i wont mind reiterating myself.

_____

Steem Power or Vests are a representation of the stake ownership to the rewardpool's distribution direction. When one participates in vote buying / selling, They are essentially rent-seeking and commoditizes the decision making of rewarding content. Why would people bother to make good content when they can pay x amount steem to make "x + clean profit". What is the value of Steem if you can pay 1 steem to get more than 1 steem?

Anyone who participates the current vote buying /selling market is pocketing quick profits at the expense of the future economy of the whole Steem ecosystem. This not arguing the morality of whether such rent-seeking is just or otherwise because some people just don't care. They will tell you in your face that "Steem is a scam so profit while the going is good" (and miss out on what it actually can be) and be on his merry way.

I personally would not want to take part in this endemic. If I own 10 Million SP i'd be very sure to hire folks whose full time job would be to flag the hell out of rent-seekers. Damn what they say about self-righteousness. vote-buying isn't supposed to be so blatantly for-profit.
