RE: Musing Posts

Social media can make the lives of its users less happy, among others, namely:

1. Reducing productivity.

Social media spends a lot of your time in vain. Social media spends a lot of your time in vain. Social Media Today data shows that the average time a person spends on social media is 2 hours / day. This includes when on the commuterline, office, or at home.

This does not cause problems if we can manage the time well. But if we have work that requires focus and high accuracy, then of course our time is wasted just because it is fixated on social media on our smartphone. This causes a decrease in work productivity.

2. Apathy.

Social media can make people no longer care about the surrounding environment. Shannon Poppito, a psychologist at Baylor Medical University in Dallas stated that someone who spends more time on social media, they will cut ties from real life and eventually feel less connected with themselves.

3. Compare Life with others.

People tend to share happy things on their social media, such as luxury, holidays, comfort and so on. This will make you compare your life with those things. This makes a person have a tendency to be jealous. Research from the University of British Columbia surveyed more than 1,100 Facebook users, and found all users had a potentially jealous reaction.
