#365 - At Blue Soil Hills in Sagada.

How are you guys doing? Just one more day and all Christians will celebrate the Christmas and also a Happy Holidays to everyone. We will just have a simple preparation just enough food and not too much expenses. We are saving for the coming new year because it is our first time going out somewhere and welcome the year unfolds from Baguio city which is the most visited city we go to because of the cold weather there. My wife decided to go there this year because she said that we have been at the house for more that a decade and she needs to try something new this time. Our budget is only good for three including my son so we can't bring my mother in-law with us. We are also going for a commute and we no longer have a vehicle to ride on. We had one before, an SUV but it is owned by my mother-in-law's brother who is based in the US then since they cannot go back to the country anymore due to aging, they have decided to sell their car and unfortunately I don't have cash back then so I could have paid for it. The car was sold for $10k, a fair enough price for a model dating back 2010. That was also the car I got use to driving and it's also what we use to travel from places, even going to work when the pandemic hasn't hit yet. So we are thankful that we had a chance to travel without going for commute. But this time it's different, we have to commute via bus 🚌 .

That's my short story for the day and moving on to our photos of the day, these shots were taken when we went to Sagada for a three day stay and one of the day was used to go to this place where there are blue soils all over the mountain area. There was an explanation by our guide but I forgot what he said is the reason why the soil is blue. So I googled it and the reason is because the mountain is full of copper making the soil turn blue. The local government didn't want to mine those coppers but instead made the area as a tourists attraction. As of this time the place is closed due to the pandemic, it has been a while when these shots were taken so the terrain might have changed already. There might be more trees growing in the area since it hasn't been touched or visited by people.

So here are some of the shots, I took this photo from the lower part of the mountain. There are couple in the background who are also included while they are taking photos too. The mountain is has plenty of pine trees growing even though there is high presence of copper.

There are other people who were out that early morning to visit this blue mountain. Some of them are in the shade of the trees resting because the climb going here took more than an hour of walking the trails. It's an experience that cannot be forgotten of course because it's once in a lifetime opportunity going here.
