Introduction to my Hive

in #nature4 years ago

Hello, I am Kevin and I just started my Hive account and is new to all the features. I live in Redding, California and really enjoy spending time outdoors. There are many recreational things to do around me so I figured I could share them occasionally. Recently took an bike ride along the Sacramento River Trail from Keswick Dam to Shasta Dam and lake.

Keswick Dam

From Keswick to Shasta, it's about 18 miles of hilly and curvy pavement trail. Bunch of ponderosa pine and views of the river which was nice.

There's Chamise Peak on the other side of the river. It's more of just a big hill but there's also a way to get to the top.

This used to be a old railroad for transporting copper ore to the ghost town of Coram before they paved over it. There's many remnants of copper mining in the area.

Grew up in Santa Rosa, Ca. and I know that river well. Some of the best catfishing in California there, sturgeon too in the lower river. Big, big fish if you know how and where to catch them.

I just checked out your page and you have some nice photography. Hope you will keep on posting it!

Hive Power Up Day - August 1st 2021 - Hive Power Delegation

Welcome to Hive Kevin. Feel free to ask any questions.
Looks like some nice country there.

Hi Old Guy!!! Just got into Hive a week or two ago after watching one of your videos. It looks like I got to stake some Hive for Hive Power. Saw the other day that if I stake on the first of the month, I would get a badge to help boost Hive credit. Need at least 10 hive to do it. Planning on doing it at the start of next month. I think I gotta post in communities for my post to be seen. Perhaps power it up perhaps. Planning on doing something for the Wednesday Walk community tomorrow 😊

Welcome to Hive!!!

Oh sweet! Hive is a really cool place with a lot to offer. It can seem intimating at first, but before long you will be right at home. I will delegate some Hive Power to get you going on your journey. Feel free to stop by my page and ask any questions in the comments. Be social and friendly and you should do fine here :)

Thank you! It certainly is intimidating and confusing at first.

Welcome to HIve! California is such a cool place to live, from mountains to deserts to places like Wine Country! to the beach, to the Redwood Forest... What is not to love, right?

I look forward to your posts.

Tell me a little about you and where you have been before this. :)

Hi dswigle! My name is Kevin and I pretty much lived in Shasta County, California for most of my life. Born in Oklahoma but moved here when I was a month old. Lived in Eureka, which is just south of Redwood National Park, for a couple years in my early 20s. Just had visited park and a nearby state park recently. Never really spent time out of Northern California besides spending about a month at my dad's house in Arkansas. Been trapped here since 2009 when I got to go the San Juan Islands in Washington. I do go up to the mountains occasionally. The Cascade range to the north and east is really just volcanic mountains. The Klamath to the west and Sierra Nevada to the southeast is more rugged and less volcanic like. I spend a lot time outdoors, maybe post some of my adventures in the upcoming days.

Hi, Kevin! @dark-uncle

I have to say that you appear to like mountains and so, I expect some posts about them. Washington State is so beautiful, although it is so difficult to keep up with all the islands they have out there.

I have a couple of friends that moved out there right after school and never came back east. (I am from Connecticut originally and now living in the Washington, DC metro area) My apologies ahead of time.

Northern California is one of the most beautiful places. I could walk through her nature all day long. Outdoors is where you will find me on most of my available time off, so I can understand that!

I wish you a lot of luck on the platform and if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Have a great day! Sorry, it took me so long to get here!

I will tell you @dswigle is a good account to follow and interact with. She is so sweet to everyone and she does some nice photography too.

Here is a tip, next time if you use the @ sign in front of her name, she will get notified. See how it makes it clickable up above.

Just sharing a teachable moment with a newbie lol.

Did you read all that flattery?!? That was free of charge even! LOL

:)) Embarrassed!!

You rang???
