This valley sits in the heart of the north shore of Oahu, welcoming hikers with it's huge monkey pod trees creating a giant canopy over the massive garden landscapes leading up to it's falls.
Cannon ball trees and orchids, lilies and exotic gingers flourish along the valley walls as you walk up the paths leading to the sacred valley of the priests~ honoring many Polynesian gods of old.
The waterfalls are cool and are great for a refreshing jump in at the peak of the trail. We all hopped in to get a massage under the great spill at the head before heading back down in find the ocean at the river mouth below.
Cultural tours and traditional games are going on for the kids throughout this hike and live music is often being played in the grasses at the bottom of the valley. The area has been a gathering ground for hundreds of years and continues to be enjoyed by tourists and locals alike. We loved exploring the flora of the valley and were spell bound by the beauty hidden within the valley walls of this ancient land.
