RE: Turning To Drones In Time For Wildfire Season

in #nature6 years ago

There are some drawbacks to using drones for these purposes. As you pointed out, greater depth and breadth of penetration of drones into wildfire prone areas does increase the chance of them starting fires.

Most of my concerns are instead how surreptitious spying on folks can be conducted under cover of wildfire spotting. Agencies, in particular the BLM, are incessantly being militarized and expanded for uses that have nothing to do with the intended agency mission by covert actors for oppressive agendae.

It's probably already true that various hot springs where people have traditionally been able to let their hair loose and relax are under constant surveillance already.

The woods are no longer a place where people can be free of surveillance.

Thanks!
