The Latin name for this tree is Albizua julibrissin.
Does anyone have any other common name for it other than Mimosa or Silk Tree?
This tree is 25-30 feet tall.
It’s growing near my son’s apartment in Texas!
I’ve always admired these trees.
I just read that butterflies and bees like them also.

Nice to see one so big. We have them here but they rarely get past the ornamental size. Such a beautiful and unusual flower:)
In Bangladesh locally it is call Ranty tree flower. It is pink color flower. Really beautiful. Thanks

They don't normally grow in Texas. This tree was probably planted by someone years ago along the edge of this apartment complex! There is also an old pecan tree very close to it! I've seen a few planted in the neighborhoods around me and my parents also planted one in El Paso, Texas where I grew up!

Yes @janton, we had 2 pecan trees in our backyard in El Paso, Texas that yielded many pecans over the years. We (my 4 siblings and mom and dad) all helped pick them up when it was time for the harvest! I helped crack many pecans to cook and eat!
Oh that is so cool and it's great to hear that they do well in Texas! Pecan pie is one of my favorites, I love that stuff!
