Ever want to just sit down and recollect. A quiet place where you could think about life and what is going on around you. From our previous travel needing a little rest from all the walking, we stumbled upon this small quiet garden. Simple and not grand but it radiates a peaceful and calm ambiance.
Tranquil Garden
The sunflowers at the foot of the statue attracted me and brought about this discovery. A small garden in a place called Good Shepherd Convent in Baguio, Philippines. Since the place was very peaceful and quiet we immediately saw lovers locked in embrace in this quiet place. Is this passion in public something that dies out when we grow old? I miss those days when there is nothing to worry about and just hold on to each other without a care in the world.
There is a small trail along the garden and with it are wood engravings of the 14 stations of the cross. Although the place is spiritual in nature it welcomes all. Looking for peace or needing for a place of prayer.
If you have a troubled mind nature is around you to calm your weary head. The scent of mountain air and the cool breeze may even hum you to doze off a bit.
A small concrete bridge beckons you to come and follow the trail. Maybe your soul is troubled like a ship on a stormy sea. In need of a light house to guide your way. A little prayer and connection with the Almighty does wondrous things.
Another bridge leads to a shrine in the center of this garden. We all have our beliefs and respect must always be given in how we pray or serve our God.
The Shrine of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier the founder of the Good Shepherd Sisters.
She established an order to help abandoned girls by providing food and shelter. Some girls who turned to prostitution to survive was taken in and cared for by the order to give them another chance in life.

We all are in need of healing once in a while and there are so many places we could do that. From the grandest cathedral or the simplest garden the most important part of it is our faith and our belief.
Well after that pleasant stroll there is a small cafe just beside it. Just in case you would want to talk more about life over a cup of coffee or a refreshing drink.
There are time it is hard to figure things out. We question ourselves, "Why are things not going your way?" Even ask yourself, "Why is life a struggle everyday?"
Maybe we need to just spend some quiet time in a Tranquil Garden and pray, organize your thoughts and be at peace.

If only the world is a big tranquil garden :D Thankfully we have sweet spots like this. Next time you may want to visit Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary if you haven't been yet.
More trees and fresh air is what we need here. I will add Maryknoll on my list. 😊
