Sometimes, if only for a moment, time seems to stand still.

It’s amazing to think that 91% of the iceberg is hidden under the water. I took this near the entrance to LeConte Bay in Frederick Sound. It’s a single hand held exposure taken from a moving boat. Alaska, USA.

Beautiful forms of water in a tranquil setting! I remember this one from Tomas' contest. Smooth color transitions, and the light blue adds a bright touch to the dark mood. The clouds and reflection make the image even more appealing. Great job, especially when you get this done by a single hand from a moving boat!

This is beautiful, looks cold frozen water and it is. Brrrr

Water in solid state and water in liquid state, as we can see in this shot of the Perito Moreno glacier in the Argentine Patagonia. With its immense size, it is related to the passenger ship in the background. It is an unforgettable and beautiful image, but one feels its strength as large pieces of ice fall into the lake. I hope you liked it as much as I did. Thank you

Picture 666.jpg

Thanks for the cool entry! I like the colors and lines in your shot and how the boat contrasts with the huge glacier, you captured the perfect moment! I was in that region too and liked it as much as you did. :)

They don't call it Iceberg Lake for nothing!
After a 5 mile hike, you've just gotta jump in.
waterwednesday-20160730-1704.jpg

beautiful :)

I just submitted a photo of the same place :) You definitely gotta jump in once you're there!!

Isn't that freezing?

Oh ya!

Jesus freakin' god. If I do that my heart instantly stops hahahaha

Very cool(temperature-wise too)! Great idea to include a figure in the landscape photo - it gives a sense of scale and personal touch.

IMG_20171120_143716_357.jpg

This is Iceberg Lake, seen from just below the summit of Mt. Wilbur in Glacier National Park, Montana. Getting to the top of this mountain requires a lot of effort, with class 5 pitches on all routes. For sure one of the most amazing climbs I've ever done in my life.

Wow! Awesome view from above!

What a view! Thank you for sharing this entry, so we can enjoy the amazing colors of the water without all the class 5 climbing on vertical rocks. :)

Wow! When the hard work pays off, great view.

Water can take on the most incredible shapes of texture and color. In this photo the surface of Lake Baikal was able to collect all the colors of the sunset and it looked like an expensive fabric woven from gold threads.

Stunning forms, colors, textures, and lighting! I love how you handled the framing and the leading golden lines. I've been to Lake Baikal too, but haven't got such a beautiful shot.

CONGRATULATIONS on being a WINNER in the WATER WEDNESDAY NATURE PHOTO CONTEST WEEK 2! See the ANNOUNCEMENT POST.

Ah, water! Who doesn't like water? I especially like water when it's falling - there's something beautiful about the way H2O interacts with gravity. This waterfall was on Vancouver Island, at a place called Rosewall Provincial Park.

rosewall.jpg

Hmmm, this image looks familiar... :) You are right the falling water is always amazing, even better when it's against all these different shades of green. The red and yellow leaves add a different touch to the color palette. Long exposure very well done, and the mist and moist make a dreamy atmosphere. Beautiful contrast between the smooth flow and the textures of mosses and branches. I also like the transition of lighting from the foreground to the back.

Yes, I decided to go with one already posted. :)

Hey, thank you so much for the great feedback and analysis, @itchyfeetdonica, I really appreciate how you're going around and commenting while you judge this round! :)

Well thank you! :)

Hey @shadalene. Thank you so much for this opportunity to share our amazing photos even from amatuers like me. Hope you appreciate my entry for water wednesday...

Just by looks of it, these kids were having a blast enjoying the waves here at Ginatilan, Cebu.
Used my fujifilm xa3 for this.

Nice snapshot. A fun moment captured by you! =)

This is the view from my old apartment in Bangkok during a storm. In the tropics it really knows how to rain. It starts and stops as if someone were flicking a switch. I don't think I saw any light rain or drizzle the whole time I was there. It's either full cats and dogs or scorching sunshine.

"In the tropics it really knows how to rain." Haha, I feel the same! Thank you for your unique contribution to the water photo contest. Great storytelling and presentation of the mood!

Bonsai Rock, Lake Tahoe is one of the more popular spots on the lake for photographers, and for good reason. It has provided me with many great photo opportunities over the years. This photo works for #waterwednesday because of the lake obviously, but also because it was lightly raining and I had to wipe the drops off of the front lens filter off between each of the stitched images.

Sunrise at Bonsai Rock 3(1).jpg

Your efforts of wiping the drops between each image surely paid off. :) This is such an amazing shot! The long exposure and low hanging clouds have created a special atmosphere. Both the foreground of rocks and the background of snow mountains serve well for the Bonsai Rock in the middle. I love your choice of colors too!

Thank you @itchyfeetdonica! Tahoe can have some pretty wild colors, especially on the east shore. A polarizer helps bring it out. Have a great day!

Great shot - particularly like your choice of colors in the image :)

Thank you @yblith, glad you like it.

This is the Alpsee in Germany.
Shot it on January 2017 during our first vacation with our little daughter, 6 months old at the time.
The Alpsee lies in Bavaria, to the very south of Germany and is a pretty popular tourist location, due to its closeness to the Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Europe's most popular tourist locations.

That's a gorgeous place and you have done an awesome job in showcasing its beauty. The golden glow adds a warm hue to the dominant cold shades. The reflection in the clear water stretches to the white landscape at the front, outlining an interesting frame. The textures of trees and peaks also form a contrast with the smooth snow and water surface.

Thanks for your feedback and the analysis :)

I really appreciate your effort to giving each contestant individual feedback - that's great!

Bubbling water from a geyser. The colour is sublime and so unreal! So beautiful and so dangerous in the mean time.

Location: Iceland

Wow, you've captured this very unique shape of water! I like the sharp contrast between the bright blue and the earthy colors around, also the textures. Wise words you've got there - "So beautiful and so dangerous in the mean time." ;) I still remember the guide in Iceland warned me that "Don't get too close, otherwise you will be boiled in a few seconds."

Thank you for the kind words and compliment. ;)

This beautiful green waterfall is from Slovenia :)

Beautiful indeed! I see you've got some amazing water photos. Good job!

I like to photograph waterfalls a lot :) Thank you

Puyuhuapi Bay - Chile
blog.jpg
This photo was taken when I was camping near the Puyuhuapi Bay in Chile back in summer 2016. Patagonia is known for it's changing weather, they say you can have all four seasons in one day but mostly it's cloudy and rainy with lots of winds.
This day though, I woke up early in the morning, rain had stopped and the moment I've openned my tent I was surprised by this reflection, there was no wind at all. I tryed to register it with my cheap camera before it started rainning again.

Your cheap camera doesn't make the view less gorgeous. :) Cool reflection there. I was living in the south of Chile at that time! =)

Thank you! That's really cool! I love Chile. Where have you lived?

Santiago and Concepcion. :)

Super! I wish I've had the time to visit Santiago when I've been to Chile. Maybe next time.

I captured this waterfall in the Blue Mountains National Park, NSW, Australia.

Thanks for the contest! Good luck to everyone!

Thank you for your entry. Beautiful capture!

I took this photo on a trip to Nusa Lembongan, near Bali. That cliff is where a lot of brave souls attempt cliff diving on days when the sea is quiet and the tide is high. That day, the waves were so strong, you could hear very loud bangs every time they'd meet the rocks. Clearly, it was not a good day for jumping.

DSC02149.jpg

You caught the perfect moment of the waves crashing on the cliff! Amazing colors of the seascape! I was there too, but not one of those brave souls. ;)

Representing all her forms
I shot this image on my iPhone, one stormy day down at the Ahalanui warm ponds here on the Big Island, Hawaii... I like the contrasting colors and textures and love that I captured Water in all her forms ~ Ocean, Waves, Spray, Puddles & Clouds! Beauty all ways 💧

You are right, this is a great capture of so many forms of water! Well done with your phone!

We have spent a night in a camping on the coast of Lonavatnet. The morning was so quiet and sunny. The lake reflected the distatnt mountains and a boat made a landscape just perfect.

The water looks so clear there, and the colors so vibrant! I agree that the boat really adds to the image. Beautiful capture of a peaceful moment!

Looking down at the surf crashing up on Grey Whale Cove State Beach in California. Shot with my DJI P3 drone.

Great angle to showcase the contrasting colors, shapes and textures! Breathtaking view, and the waves look so powerful! DJI P3 is a mighty weapon. ;)

The Athabasca Falls are located in West Canada between Jasper and Banff on the Icefields Parkway, one of the most beautiful panorama roads of the world...

That's a large volume, even a little rainbow! I like your photos from West Canada - they make me want to go there. :)

Thank you. When I browse through my photos I also want to go there again... it was great to experience this great landscape.

Last March I got to visit Hawaii for work and on a bus tour that circumnavigated Oahu we stopped at the North Shore.
The weather was windy and the water choppy so I didn't see surfers riding enormous waves... or Jack Johnson.
Being raise in San Diego around so many surfers it was a treat to go to "The North Shore". Post

Water, ice and snow.
Photo taken in Slovakia during one of the winterhikes I did on this February in Tatra National Park. This stream is easily reachable from Stary Smokovec and has quite a few frozen waterfalls during this period of time.

It is possible to watch dolphins very often in various seas and oceans. These animals like to accompany the ships and boats, playing and frolicing nearby.
And here to find the place where in the wild nature it is possible to swim for a while and dive near these surprising sea inhabitants, not so simply. In 2012 I have for this purpose gone to Mozambique where in warm waters of the Indian Ocean there were several surprising meetings.

@photofreediver, this is really an amazing photograph! I would suggest you save it for Flora and Fauna Friday though, as in this contest the main subject should be water. I'd hate to see this disqualified! :)
I have updated the main post to clarify the theme.

This is my mistake, I'm very sorry! Leave this photo until Friday :)

You are welcome to submit another photo if you'd like to follow my suggestion.

Hi again, I so enjoy this contest makes me look at all my pictures again. This is water, just water crystal clear water.

Thank you for your entry of the pure clear water! :)

This is the beautiful clear water of Lake Bled in Slovenia, I couldn't believe how clear the water was, it was tempting to go for a swim if it wasn't in November!

The water does look very clear and cold. I enjoyed Lake Bled too. :)

Yes it's such an amazing place!

This lake is called Tso Moriri, situated in Ladakh region of India at an altitude of 14835 feet this is among the highest lake in world, flora and fauna of this place is breathtaking, you wont believe the reflection of sky which looks mesmerising in water hope guys love this shot .

Located in Mexico, it is a Magical Town of Quintana Roo that is next to a beautiful lagoon of seven shades of blue that offers the ideal space for diving, swimming and snorkeling.

Thanks for your contribution! I was there too. :) You are right the water there is so clear with a whole range of blue.

Last Saturday we made a tour through the Muskoka area in Ontario. There had been several days of nice weather and it was beautiful to see the wintry scenes slowly preparing for spring ( although now winter is back 😕)
This photo was taken during the day, on the road to Algonquin park. Nice mix of water and ice.

Thank you for your photo of water in 2 forms!

Here is my entry for #waterwednesday

This is Durdle door in Dorset England , just a amazing place , you have to climb a hill before you can be there , but that's just the charm of it, because that makes it seclusive and private .

On the edge of a blue lagoon in Iceland. It's amazing how these waters look radioactive.

Thanks for your submission! Yes the water there looks amazing. I loved the hot bath in it! =)

This is my water picture. I captured this on a small Estonian island named Vormsi. I have no idea what this thing is but it looked photogenic.
DSC_0407.jpg

Nice shot! I like your composition. Interesting to see the different forms of water here in your image. I've only been to Estonia in summer, this place looks pretty cold to me, is it the Baltic sea?

Thank you, this is the baltic sea yes. Well last 2 weeks we have had below -25C temperatures, now it getting warmer fortunately. Now the spring moves closer and closer :)

Here is my entry. Title: 'Rolling Surf.' This image was taken along the picturesque coast of Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast in Australia.

Wow, look at the glittering waves. Beautiful capture! I just want to say thank you for entering this photo taken at my current home region! =)

Water rushing over the mossy rocks in Deadwood Creek in The Black Hills of South Dakota in the USA.

Gold was discovered in the Black Hills in the 1870's and Deadwood Creek was particularly profitable.

Thanks Melinda for your entry of this pretty stream and the background knowledge!
