Dennis Smith Jr ties record?

It has been reported recently in various locations that NBA Draftee hopeful PG Dennis Smith Jr. has tied the highest vertical by an NBA player ever.

If true, this puts Dennis Smith Jr in truly elite company, ahead of Michael Jordan, ahead of Vince Carter, Zach Lavine, ahead of Blake Griffin, and yes ahead of insert name of your favorite dunker here... ahead of all but two in NBA history. Those two were believe it or not, Wilt Chamberlain, and Dr. Dunkenstein Darell Griffith. I actually had no idea, there was more than one 48 inch vertical prior to reading a certain article recently.

I already knew from watching game film, and clips that Dennis Smith Jr. was a phenomenal athlete, but this truly puts him in rare air, and in a class truly by himself. I did some research, and the average PG max vertical is 34.9 inches.

He also had two triple doubles (and both were within a month of each other) in his lone season of college basketball. According to cbssports.com, Smith became the first ACC player in history to record two triple doubles in ACC play during a season.

This kid may have attitude, he may take plays off, but with his ability, his shooting, and the way he attacks the rim, and shows no fear, not to mention the away he rebounds the ball, he is going to be special.

Check him out in the final video above, against the NBA's Victor Oladipo! What are your thoughts on this amazing pg? I honestly think given the right opportunity, and right team, he could be the rookie of the year next season. He seems to have a fire to him, that with his God given ability that could make him SPECIAL!

Dallas really get a big steal on Dennis smith - great pick at 9th.

I really believe this. I think he has a solid outside shot of being rookie of the year next year if he starts.

Yes he is definitely has a shot at being the rookie of the year. Before he tore his ACL, he game actually is like Rusell Westbrooks the most. He will get plenty opportunity in Dallas as their PG position is still up for grab, great pickup by the Dallas.

great Post Broski @jjsolley He just might bring back great Talent in this New Decentralized World hahaha Reminds me of the Old days

Thanks. Mr. Bitty! I appreciate the kind words!
