It's been so nice to be able to get a bit of peaceful time to do bits of sewing and knitting today.
I had to adjust the shape of the pennant I showed you yesterday. @mivstar needed it to be smaller and less rounded. I also found a stick ( a piece of wild rose ) and a string to hang it.
She's got all her favourite pins at uni so hopefully this one will travel well. In the meantime I gave her the pin I bought to support 'Cancer Research' as it had a lovely deer - and once again @jen0revision suggested I should add googly eyes so I did :D
On the knitting front, I've been practising some 'double knitting'.
Double knitting is a cool knitting technique that allows you to produce a double layer of Stockinette Stitch fabric with mirror-image colorwork while knitting both layers at the same time.

I wanted to avoid rough edges but ended up having a hole and no connection between the two colour layers. The photo below will hopefully clarify what I mean.
I eventually found this clear tutorial on how to achieve a neater edge. I have a lot to learn about this technique.
Thank you for reading.

You can see how I made the pennant by following the link below.
Pennant came out nice. Love the rudolph pen :)
Yes, it's pretty. There were some snowflakes last year in the same 'chrome' style, @steven-patrick.
I'll be honest, that 2nd photo alone didn't really clarify much for me... but in combination with that new post about "double knitting" it actually does ;) heh
It's been a hard technique ' to work out', but I'm happy with the result, @googlyeyes. Now it's just a question of 'practice makes perfect' :D
