Good morning hivers, being a while here, had some issues with my phone that's why I couldn't post for days but now I'm back online and will be sharing with you how I made a beautiful kaftan top, simple and classy.
MATERIALS USED
- fabric (whine IRISH material)
- paper stay
- collar stay
- hair stay
- buttons
- thread
CUTTING PROCESS
In cutting a kaftan, you fold your material half way considering the chest measurement adding allowances, then you proceed by marking the fabric using the measurements gotten, the neck, shoulder, shoulder rest, arm, chest, and length.
Cutting the back I folded 2 inches to give a little opening at the back just to give it a small touch of design before placing the front on it , then added some inches to the shoulder and cut out, then I cut the sleeve and back landing b4 proceeding to sewing of the material.
SEWING PROCESS
I started my sewing by folding the allowances added to the length
Then I create the collar, in creating the collar I cut some pieces of fabrics, added paper stay, and hair stay to one I will be using to tape the neck, and also for chest pocket.
Then the 2 inches I added to the back for the little opening as a design
Then I proceeded by joining the shoulders together, tape the neck and fix the collar and pocket
Then I fixed the sleeve placket and joined the sleeve to the body
Then I closed the body and fixed the curve
