#NeedleWorkMonday! I make my husband's underpants!

WHAT!?

Yep! You read that right! I make all of my husbands underwear.

I've even won a first place ribbon at the fair for a pair of his (new) boxer briefs!

Why?

Well, if you ask @hippiehusband, he would say,

"Because they are so much more comfortable than store bought. They don't sag, don"t loose their shape, and feel as comfortable as wearing nothing... Well, almost. And they bring fun colors to a borring work wardrobe. It's like a party in my pants!"

I can make 100% customised, perfect fitting boxer briefs for @hippiehusband, for often cheaper than store bought anyway!

I use the Men's Boxerwear Boxer Brief pattern from Stitch Upon A Time.
The pattern is super easy to follow, even for beginners. It comes with a fantastic picture tutorial as well! Several different finish options, like: high rise, low rise, long leg length, cuffs, no cuffs (hemmed), encased elastic waist, sewn on elastic waist, no elastic waist, pouch pocket, no pocket, etc etc.

I use both my serger and regular sewing machine with stretch ball point needles. Although, they can be made with just a regular sewing machine using a stretch stitch (looks like a lightning bolt!).

Most of @hippiehusband's stash is over 3 years old now and holding up great! The fabric prints have faded some, but the integrity is perfect.

@hippiedaughters and I all have 90% homemade undies as well! I use the Stitch Upon A Time's, Bunzies Underwear pattern for ours.

I hope you enjoyed my #NeedleWorkMonday! Thanks for reading!

That's a great picture with you and your ribbon. Especially cause you're holding a baby. Was that carrier made by you too?

Ive bought organic fitted underwear off of Etsy before. Most comfortable undies ever.

Thanks! That was from last summer. The carrier was a Kinderpack infant size. I didnt make it. But I made this one

(sorry, i dont have a good picture at the moment)

Haha, really! You are amazing. I really wish i could sew just like you. Husband must be so lucky, he get personalised underwears.

Way to go @corrielaine. Xx

Thanks!
They are very easy to make! you should surprise him!

Oh noooo. I hope my husband never reads this post!!! He will instantly force me to sew him these lovely pants. Wait... I could demand an overlock machine for this ;-D
But joking aside, you post and especially your victory photos are great. I am still such a beginner in sewing. I only dare to sew super simple half circle skirts for my friends and me (and I am still dreaming of sewing my own dress...sigh)
Thank you for your encouraging post <3

Haha! Having a serger was a game changer!
The best way to get better at sewing is to branch out to new projects! Just dive right in!

A lot of online pattern makers (like stitch upon a time, patterns for pirates, etc) also have support groups on facebook for problem solving :)

My husband would absolutely love this!! Too bad I can't sew!!!😫

Never a better time to start learning than now!😍

These are fab! Congratulations on your awards at the fair. So jealous of your skills xo#goals.png

Thanks for the tip about that site--I might eventually have to try out the kids' boxer briefs pattern!

Yes! I love all of their patterns! All so well designed and easy to follow!

It is so cool you make your husband's underpants and won an award for it! The underpants look really cute.

Thanks!
How many men can talk with their buddies about "my wife made my underwear!" haha!

Wow, this is definitely some goal! I sew but I have never imagined I will ever sew my undies talk more of someone else's. I have to go check out those links you mentioned. You totally rock @corrielaine😍

Aw thanks @wondermaey!

Making my own clothing items, and for my family, is definitely mentally rewarding!

Congratulations, I would like to learn how to make personalized boxers for my husband. Regards...

Awesome! Thank you!

Boxers are so ridiculously overpriced... Often they're $15-40, and rarely even sewn well. I should probably try sewing a pair myself.

You should! They really arent hard!

Wow! Fantastic @corrielaine... i don't know how to saw , so not happening for me. Lols.

I only started sewing about 9 years ago, self taught. Maybe it will happen for you someday❤

Ugh! Too late to upvote again... Mom-brain strikes again...
Love the homemade undies thought! What a cool idea!!

Haha! Thats ok ;)

Thanks!

Oh my gosh mama, I missed this totally! HOW CAN I?

You'll have to do a video :) I am so ready to make our own underwear because the organic ones they sell online just don't cut it.

Haha! A video would be fun... But maybe a bit long?
Ive not done much with videos before!
