How mad am I?

Future plans - my biggest creative project yet. 152.5 x 76 cm. My last few recent works were on 76 x 50cm...and each of them took (or takes) almost two weeks. How long will this one take? A month or more...I have no idea. That's why this project is a bit intimidating. Especially since I'm not sure yet what exactly I want to depict in this work. Anyway, I think this challenge will be fun for me.

Sort:

To quote Shakespeare as I often do to make me sound intelligent, you are 'but mad north-north-west." "When the wind is southerly," you "know a hawk from a hand saw."

Now I feel even more crazy because I have not read Shakespeare.😛

That's quite big, but whoever succeeded has tried

I wish you all the best!

Big canvases are so fun but intimidating indeed. It's always good to try a bigger one, maybe you'll realize you actually like it better than smaller ones. :D

This is plywood not a canvas but I agree. In the past I made most my pieces on about 51 x 51 cm plywood. after that I tried various size canvas. Now I am working on 76 x 50cm plywood and it feels big enough. Still trying to tame this monster will be interesting.😛

I just worry because I think that such huge and expensive piece of plywood deserves some very special piece... I would imagine that finding a buyer for a piece this size will be even harder. So I need to create something I would like for my own wall just in case.

Yeah I didn't mean canvas cloth, but something to draw on. You're doing pyrography right? I can only imagine how long that will take tho I haven't tried that.
Yeah I think bigger canvases are always harder to store and to find a buyer for it so I agree you should paint something you'll love to keep.

Yes most of the time I use pyrography. Not sure if I will use it one this huge piece because: 1. pyrography takes me way more time than just painting and 2. It will probably be very hard to reach all the distant corners of the piece.

All the best!

Looking forward to what you create here.

Thank you. I have a few ideas but still have not chosen one of them.

If others could take 2 weeks to be completed, this could take about a month to be completed; it also depends on how much time you devote on it each day.

Yes that is true. I think that I spend more but it is probably at least 6+ hours a day.
