What's up, Hivers community? I hope everyone is having a good day ahead. Welcome to my first-ever blog! I am thrilled to share my experiences and adventures with you. To begin with let me humbly introduce myself. I am Chenee but most of the people call me Chen, hailing from Cebu City, Philippines, known as the Queen City of the South.
I am the eldest of the siblings. The first princess of the family. I am a Taurus baby, my traits of being a taurean are being compassionate, persistent, and opinionated. I would describe myself as being friendly, easy and fun to be with. As a socialble person, I have many friends since I like to communicate with people and get to know new interesting individuals. My friends say that I am very funny and interesting girl with a good sense of humor. As soon as I meet new people who are also happy to meet me, I feel extremely comfortable with them. My funny hidden talent is that I can eat a lot without getting fat. I don't stave myself, Hahaha!

I grew up in Cebu City with my grandparents. Growing up with them makes my life more easier and comfortable. We used to have a small business in the city, we have a tailoring shop. My first plaything was a spool of sewing thread and my first toy vehicle was a sewing machine. My grandfather taught me on mending torn clothing, jeans and also imparted the knowledge of shoe repair. Amazing right?
I was nurtured and shaped in a traditional manner under the care of my affectionate grandparents. They provided everything for me up until college. So, I took up a Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Preschool. Right after college, I took a role of a Teacher Assistant at a renowned Catholic school in the city. Teaching has been my passion ever since, and I particularly enjoyed interacting with children.
I also worked as a Call Center Agent for a year and then the pandemic happened so from "City girl" to "Countryside girl" real quick. Me and my grandparents decided to went back and lived in our hometown in Northern province part of Cebu. The city is not safe for us anymore that time because of the rapid increase of Corona Virus cases in our place. At first, it is not easy for me to adjust in my new place since I am not used to live in our province.
Eventually, I came to appreciate my current situation. I find comfort in being able to peacefully sleep with my entire family. Being closer to nature now, I discover a sense of inner peace. The feeling that you are living slower this time and enjoying every moment. My city life is very far away of how I lived my life now no toxic, no pressure and not polluted. And we can eat fresh vegetables and fruits from our garden.
Now, I serve as a Virtual Assistant, operating from the comfort of my home. What I appreciate about my job set up is the freedom from early wake-ups and the daily commute, which can be quite stressful and demotivating. Experiencing stress and demotivation does not help you to have a productive day. You can also spend 24/7 with your family and loved ones since you don't have to go to a workplace. Plus, I can work without needing bathe, wear make ups, and in my pajamas.
My preferences and pastimes
During my childhood, I enjoyed dancing and actively took part in school programs. In highschool, I even became a member of a dance group. However, I discovered my ability to sing and I am liking it. Now, whether I'm experiencing joy or sorrow, I can express my emotions through singing. I love also doing girly stuffs.
I really enjoy doing my make-ups, dressing myself up, putting accessories on, and took picture of my ootd's. Hahaha! I used to call "kikay" (fashionista) by my family. I truly love adventures, spending quality time with my family and friends, and visiting the beach, despite the fact that I don't have a good swimming skills. I am not a sporty girl. I'm not so strong physically which is one of my weakness.
I remembered I always got a low grades in Physical Education subjects when I was still a student. I also have passion in hosting, which has become one of my sideline gigs now. I enjoyed it so much, perhaps because I thoroughly enjoy speaking in front of others. It's good to feel that you are working on the things that you really enjoy and passionate about it.
What is my reason behind my decision to join Hives?
I was introduce to this community by @heyitsjian , sparking my curiosity. Upon discovering that @callmesmile is also a part of this community, I approached her for more information. A heartfelt thank you also to @naymhapz in encouraging me to join. And then, I received an invitation to attend the Hives orientation, which the speaker @indayclara expanded my understanding of this community. The information I heard captured my attention. This platform seems ideal for sharing my experiences, thoughts, and being a witness to my adventures. It could serve as a way to preserve memories across various aspect of my life.
What are the expection that Hive has for me?
Since I'm enjoying writing, I can apply my skills to this platform. I have a million stories in my mind and wanted to share it with others. I have this motto Have fun and do work later I want to enjoy the life and share it with others. I am an overthinker and I know through this platform I can control my thoughts more.
I also want to be more productive and overcome my anxiety when sharing my thoughts here. Spread a positive outlook than a negative one on things. This could serve as my adventure journal, a record to look back on someday. I aspire to inspire others to embrace life to the fullest, recognizing each day as a blessing. It's important to cherish moments, explore new experiences, and continuously learn. To encourage everyone that let us make this world a better place to live.
