Hi there, I am Sofs Aka Sophie. I have been posting here for the last four days and if you've noticed what I have been doing here, you'd know that I love nature and gardening is my thing. I love to write and have been writing online for a few years now.
Happy Me
Writing makes me happy just as gardening does. Long time ago I gave up my full time job as a HR manager to be a SAHM (stay at home mom) It was a tough decision but one I believe was the best decision of my life.
Being a SAHM I need do something to spend my time usefully , it was then I discovered writing online. However, there was one thing I need to be clear about, this time around I didn't want to do something because it paid me, but because I loved doing it. I needed the money for sure, but I need to be doing the things I was passionate about to keep me happy.
I am a keen learner
Writing online led me to photography. Where I come from, a woman in her middle age lugging a camera around is looked upon cynically. I dared to do it. I love nature and I needed to write about nature from my side of the globe. Talking about my experiences also meant that I need my own images to tell my story. With unsteady hands and below average eyesight I started taking photographs, sometimes shaky sometime good. I learned as I moved forward, each day I learn to do better with my camera.
I am no laughing stock
I cannot type with all my fingers. My boys have fun watching me type for hours what would take anyone a few minutes. My older son named this journey of mine as, 'Two fingers and a space bar". I did not give up. I am still writing many years later, still using my two fingers.
Tenacity is my middle name
I don't give up easily. For me it giving up is not a choice. This journey of writing online has been all about learning. I learn how to navigate through each platform I write on, I struggle with creating images for my posts, every step is an adventure for me. I love learning and I thrive in a difficult environment.
I am greedy
I love life, I live it with gusto. I grab every experience that comes my way with both hands. I believe life is about the journey not just the destination. If you don't enjoy the journey there is no guarantee that you would enjoy life when you reach your destination.
This beautiful life
My life is beautiful! I have a loving husband, two amazing boys, two happy dogs, a little garden I created from scratch on my terrace and a camera which helps me tell my story. I ask nothing more of life, just that I live to enjoy every moment and learn from the things I experience everyday.
Life is amazing and I am so thrilled to be alive!
My application for the Newbie Initiative May batch
While I was going to post my introductory post I realized that there is a newbie initiative here and I would love to be a part of this initiative. I did not want to be repetitive so I used the same post to make it my application as well.
I think this is an admirable initiative for newbies on the platform, as we find this place a bit tough to navigate here. Besides each platform has it own kind of internal culture and style of functioning and it would help to get a little bit of help in the first few days to understand the platform and contribute effectively to it. I don't believe there are too many block chain social media platform around like Hive around and any help would be welcome. I appreciate all those who are involved in this initiative.
Like I mentioned earlier that I love writing and photography is my hobby. I love nature and write a lot about nature, I enjoy watching birds and animals. I have pets and often write about my pets. Poetry is my passion. I also write on self-Improvement topics and life experiences. I find joy in writing and that brings me here to Hive.
My hive reputation at the time of writing this post is 46 and I have exactly 225.125 hp. I have been delegated earlier by @dreemsteem and @kenechukwu97.

Haha. I loved your son's remarks two fingers and space bar. Is it still the same after so many years of practice?
Being a stay at home mother is itself a great duty that requires patience and underrated efforts bit it is worth investing in this job. However, keeping up with your dreams is a courages act that you did.
I know giving up is not an option for you and you keep on learning that's why you overcome all your hinderence and emerge better than before
