কক্সবাজারের মেরিন ড্রাইভ সড়কের পাশ ধরে বৈদ্যুতিক খুঁটিগুলো সমান্তরাল এগিয়ে গেছে। এই খুঁটিগুলোই বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে ক্যানভাস হিসেবে। রংতুলিতে খুঁটির গায়ে আঁকা হয়েছে দৃষ্টিনন্দন শিল্পকর্ম।
কক্সবাজার শহর থেকে সমুদ্রসৈকত আর সবুজ পাহাড় দুই পাশে ফেলে টেকনাফের দিকে এগিয়ে গেছে কক্সবাজারের মেরিন ড্রাইভ। এই পথের পাশে রয়েছে বিদ্যুতের খুঁটি। এই খুঁটিগুলোতে আঁকা হচ্ছে এমন বৈচিত্র্যময় শিল্পকর্ম। ১০ কিলোমিটার সড়কের পাশে বিদ্যুতের খুঁটি আছে প্রায় ৪০০টি। এর মধ্যে ৬০ শতাংশ খুঁটিতে চিত্রকর্ম আঁকা হয়েছে। অবশিষ্ট খুঁটিগুলোতে রং করা হয়েছে ছবি আঁকার জন্য। দৃষ্টিনন্দন এই চিত্রশালাটি তৈরির উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠান মারমেইড ইকো রিসোর্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ। তাদের সহযোগিতা দিচ্ছে কক্সবাজার উন্নয়ন কর্তৃপক্ষ (কউক) ও কক্সবাজার বিদ্যুৎ উন্নয়ন বোর্ড (বিউবি)।
এই খুঁটি চিত্রশালা তৈরির প্রধান কারিগর চিত্রশিল্পী রনি আহমেদ। তাঁকে সহযোগিতা করছেন স্থানীয় আরও দুজন চিত্রশিল্পী। রনি আহমেদ বলেন, পুরো জিনিসটি আসলে সিনেমার মতো। ফিল্মে রোল চলতে শুরু করলে ছবিটা দেখা যায়। এখানে মানুষ চললে ফ্লিমটা চালু হবে। একটার পর একটা গল্প আসতে থাকবে। চলন্ত গাড়িতে বসে যেন ছবিগুলো দেখা যায়, সেভাবে খুঁটির পরিমাপ নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে। হাঁটার সময় এই ছবি ভালোভাবে দেখা যায়। খুঁটির নিচের অংশ থেকে সাত-আট ফুট রং করে তাতে আর্ট করা হচ্ছে।
