Nintendo just revealed their new switch named switch lite which is designed as a cheaper alternative to the original switch. It comes at a price of 199$ which is a whole 100$ cheaper than the original switch. But their's a catch, it is purely build for handheld use so you cant connect it on to the TV, and the joy con controllers are built right in and are not detachable.
But the new switch lite comes with its own perks. It is significantly lighter almost 30% lighter than original switch, has a 5.5 inch 1280 X 720 captive touch display (Identical to smart phones), comes with a slightly longer battery life and a fully reliable D-pad. It also has support for joy cons (has to purchase separately) & comes with three color variants mainly yellow, grey & turquoise as well as light grey pokemon sword & shield edition.
Nintendo says there’s no performance difference between the two models, that means you can still use the same accessories with the Lite, which includes Joy-Con controllers, the Switch Pro Controller, and the Poké Ball Plus. The Switch Lite will also support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, and has built-in gyro controls.
