BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:30 A.M.) - The largest jihadist group has issued a statement officially rejecting the Idlib buffer zone agreement that was established in Sochi on September 17th.
Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham released a statement on Sunday that said they would not be retreating from the Idlib buffer zone, adding that they will keep their fighters and weapons inside this designated area.
The jihadist group's statement on Sunday marks the first time that Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham has rejected the agreement.
The Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham statement was also released on the eve of the withdrawal deadline, which has officially past.
Earlier on Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army watched as members of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party continued raising trenches around the northern Latakia front.
