Not quite @logic, portions of up to around half of France belonged to the English crown at various points, until Mary's final withdrawal from the continent, but the Normans were not Franks never considered as French other than by wishful French kings until well into the middle ages. Complex? Never, its all very simple really, a King of England is English, despite being Danish, Norman, Scottish, Welsh, Dutch or German.

My response about the exact size of the land was not literal. Thanks for bringing up some clarification though :-)
Following your "logic"also the King of France is French, despite being Danish, Norman, Scottish, Welsh, Dutch or German.
To be honest, I can't care less about some nationalistic prides. French, British, Mozambican, etc.
Absolutely, isn't it amazing how the King of England was the King of France, but not being French (must be my English way of thinking). Come on, without nationalistic pride we'd have a lot less to laugh at. I was thinking of specific Kings though: Cnut, William I, James I (or VI), Henry VII, William III and George I.
