The latest news has Madrid giving Barcelona (Catalonia) a 5 day ultimatum to "clarify if it has declared independence."
The caveat is that if they want that "order" fulfilled they better be ready to pay, every order serviced can be serviced once the fee is paid, and at this point after the mandate has passed to say anything on these matters needs clarifying is to say that consensus doesn't exist.
War of Words indeed, if they Bow down and fulfill the ultimatum/order then they have submitted to the Rule of Spain and regardless of what the "answer" is they could use that as a foothold to demonstrate that they are not worthy to be independent because they are still begging Mother for permission!
A fair point - there's no real way to respond to this "ultimatum" without bowing to Spain's authority by even acknowledging it.
