Pahela Baishakh: Trump welcomes Bengalis from Bangladesh, around the globe on New Year

We celebrate this vital day alongside each one of those from Bangladesh, India, and around the globe who meet up today to check the landing of the New Year," said Acting Secretary of State John Sullivan.

He said Pahela Baishakh is an open door for the individuals who speak Bangla as a primary language, of all religions and convictions, to praise their rich history and culture with excellent parades, fairs, and moves, it said.

"Here in the United States, we accept this open door to thank the Bangladeshi American people group for its exceptional commitments to our country, our economy and our way of life. We join every one of you in looking toward a splendid future, and wish you the best in the year to come," Sullivan said in an announcement.
