Small Town Police Militarized?

in #news7 years ago

Why do they need that big armored truck?

That's the question we were asking when this beast rolled by in the 4th of July parade.

This is the City of Schertz, TX. Population, a bit over 36,000. The area is nice, clean, growing and seems to be a happy place. We are just confused about this "display of force", or perhaps we just misunderstand the purpose of this kind of vehicle? Maybe it's for fire fighting? Perhaps carrying valuables from place to place in an emergency? But... it says "Emergency Response", so it would seem to me that it is for riot control or something like that. I don't remember any significant riots or anti-government demonstrations in this neck of the woods lately.

It's not about conspiracy

Honestly I'm just curious! So, since I couldn't find any information about this on the public website or Facebook page I just gave dispatch a call. Here is there response:

"We were given a Government Grant. Many local law enforcement groups were given Military Vehicles. We use this truck specifically for any SWAT type calls we have for troop transportation. This vehicle gives more protective cover to the team during transportation."

Well, there you have it. The Government was kind enough to share Military vehicles with our small town local law enforcement. 😇

Hmm so under the thumb of big government since they so generously "gave" (I think we the public bought these) us something most small towns will never need unless it is to do more big government control of the tax payers....

It's because the zombie apocalypse is coming...

We were given a Government Grant. Many local law enforcement groups were given Military Vehicles.

Yup, that's how it happened. But, for what?

  • Well, you'll get the people who say it makes it easier for the FEMA relocation to concentration areas.
  • Then you'll get the people who say it makes it easier for declaring Martial Law.

Let's go the DeanLogic route
At most, police have a dozen of these in some large department. Most will only have one or two, because that's what the grant handed out. Along with the vehicles they got a bunch of scary looking outfits.

What's been going on in the past 8 years? A war on police from the White House. The White House culled the military of anyone who went against the Social Justice Whimpinazation of the Military. While there are still plenty of grunts to fight for America, there are less leaders with the right sort of back bone.

So, after you eliminate the military, you have to handle the police. Harder to do. But, if you make the police the enemy and you create BLM/Antifa to fight against the police, then you sew the seeds of doubt.

That means, this is just a chess move. These vehicles can be easily taken out by a real force or even some homemade device. Single vehicles are not a threat, they are a target.

This is all part of a scheme to remove the ability to keep civil order.

....makes you go HMMM..okay! very weird indeed!

The small town of 5,000 that I live in has a MRAP as well and when you call the department the automated message you are forced to listen to says their primary purpose is to protect this town from terrorism. What? What ever happened to the peace officer that swore to serve their community. The federal government never "gives" grants without huge hooks attached in the pay to play crony capitalist political puppet show we now have, I can't image what the stipulations were to get the "grant".

Why can't the gouverment give gifts that make people feel good or at least help them in their everydaylife, not scare them? Do small local communities need these? Now I got curious? I know I would react with fright and/or anger if cars like this showed up in our parade.

Indeed. The sad part is that most Americans just look at it and think "Cool!". They don't understand the consequences of all of it.
