Fox News posted on Twitter this image with the estimated flight times of a possible ICBM from North Korea.
As you can see, the East Coast of the USA would have about 20 minutes more warning than Hawaii. It isn't shown, but I would guess North Korea's ICBM could reach Guam in less than 10 minutes. The last missile that North Korea launched has the estimated range to put it right in the heart land of the USA. One of the questions has been, can the ICBM survive reentry into Earth's atmosphere. The missiles launched so far have been done at an angle that would prevent them from landing on Japan or some other neighbor, which might accidentally start a war.

However, reaching the ground and being accurate has never been the goal of North Korea. All they really need to do is get it over the center of the USA and explode the EMP(electromagnetic pulse) bomb 1470 miles above the surface and the effect will be enough. Or, based on their range, North Korea could explode three EMP bombs, one each for California, Chicago and Buffalo, NY at 1000 miles or less and create even more damage.
This image was taken from Alan Dawd's website artilce Preventing a “Blackout War”. If you look at the image, you will notice that it part of a testimony given to Congress in 1997. Congress has known about this threat for two decades.

Just a couple of days ago, the experts changed their tune on whether or not North Korea can use the rockets they are testing for a nuclear bomb. Now they believe that North Korea has miniaturized their nuclear warheads. Only a few months ago, the news was stating that North Korea was still trying to do the miniaturization, and now everyone seems to agree that they have already figured it out.
Here is an article from May 5, 2017, A North Korean Nuclear EMP Attack? … Unlikely. In it, they talk about how North Korea could create an EMP.
Considering the physics behind EMP and the status of North Korea’s nuclear program to date, doomsday headlines in the press regarding the North’s potential EMP threat are grossly overstated.
I don't see an updated article from this site that states, "38 North is a website devoted to informed analysis of North Korea."
Thanks for this, I actually fear the EMP more then a nuke. Haha I got to use that word! Actually, I am serious about that fear.
Everybody should be concerned about it.
nice post....great information
Which way to the bunker!
If you don't know by now, you ain't gettin' in.
Just sayin'.
You heartless thing you.
Somebody is gonna get nuked before this is all over, hopefully not the USA.
Hopefully someone will figure out a solution before an actual nuke is launched.
We'll all live to see nukes used again. I do not look forward to it, but I'm preparing for the event.
It's all we can do. Plenty of people bent on destroying 80% of he population.
